This dialogue is being used for many years, and will possibly persist to be passed down — but what is the reason? When the clients or other people declare that they employ the lawyer and they have no concern with the law firm, what are they really meaning to say? Is it insignificant to say that they are posing? We can surely declare that no advocate or any client can say that they are going to employ just the lawyer, regardless of the fact that how able and flourishing he or she is, if the lawyer does not have the ability, ways and means and support of a law firm that can appropriately manage a multiple-trillion-dollar business. There are thicker connotations to this dialogue — connotations for the lawyers confronting the client, lawyers acting on a client group and finally the law firms who hire these lawyers and attend these clients.

The same is authentic for other facts of the retaining, such as staff, finances, etc. So even in those cases where I trust a specific lawyer, I fight hard to employ that person because of the fact that he or she is connected with a firm whose rates are too expensive or whose supportive talent group is not satisfactory.
